the Internet opens doors to other people's lives we never knew existed.
If I could live life all over again, I would have made it my goal / ambition to marry rich.
then, no need to spend my days working. everyday would be a holiday. & shopping would be at hermes boutiques all over the world. a hermes birkin / kelly in exotic croc / ostrich leather from hubby every now & then.

why did my parents have to place so much emphasis on studies when I was a kid and getting that degree? so that i have to work hard all my life? for wat. i don't want to be able to buy my own LVs / Birkin. I would rather enjoy life and be given those as presents. It's just not the same.

last yr, the economy was good and i worked hard. and now a good sum of it will be confiscated by iras! with the money, i could have bought myself all the items on my wishlist: hermes birkin + chanel bag + franck muller watch + valentino histoire & more! or half a car! why why why. i feel like i've been robbed.

i hate people. so sometimes i wonder if i'm really in the right job. where i have to talk to so many pple in a day. i start to hate pple even more. maybe, i didn't hate pple right from the start. perhaps cos i see the ugly side of pple everyday. since my 1st day of work in my 1st job till now, 4-5 yrs later, i still see the ugly side of pple everyday. esp agents. the day i quit doing home loans, i'll write a book & spill the beans on agents and their money-grubbing antics. then again sometimes, some clients themselves are no better. so then they deserve one another.

perhaps that's y i have developed a liking for gore? tv shows /films with gory scenes that make sh uncomfortable & he'll yell at me to switch channels / stop watching. yet i watch, rather gleefully. haiz.

just when i was enjoying quieter times & the lull in the market....
since there are just so many (few) banks in sg, why can't they just come together and agree to fix interest rates at 6%p.a or somethin' across the board for all home loans.

if all banks charge a uniform rate of 6%, well the consumer would have to take it...or leave it.

why undercut.....cut cut cut till no more margin liao.

and now everyone wants to refinance all over the place.

just form a cartel lah isn't that the model that is supposed to be the most profitable?

interest rates pls shoot back up soon.

very excited...sh told me we're entitled to purchase air tics at staff rates from now on!!!this makes long haul trips more worth it now than shorter haul ones....

- Jay Chou concert (swoons) he is so cute!!! It's been years since I've gone for a concert or do silly stuff like hang around his hotel after the concert hoping to catch another glimpse of him. It's stuff like that that actually makes me feel young again...

sh was finally back from his 3 wk stint at obs, perak last fri! i decided to surprise him at the airport. was also a gd chance to check out the type of guys who will be his batch mates for the next 3 yrs. there, i bumped into an ex vjc schoolmate who was also sh's batch mate. small world.

tomo will be the start of his 6 mth stint at seletar air base. cos of the amount of mugging he'll need to do to pass the exams, he's supposed to stay with the rest of his batch mates at the nearby colonial houses & will be back only on weekends.

i did some thinking while he was away.
life is definitely more dull in some ways now becos of his decision to be a pilot -
-no more diving till 3 yrs later, or at least till i can find a replacement dive buddy
-lonely weekday nights by myself but at least we can still chat via the web/phone
-going to the gym is quite a pain now cos the novena sq carpark is so scary when the car is going up/down the spiralling seemingly endless slope & it's worse if there's a car behind me & i start to get panicky.

but then again
-i'll have more time to hang out with other pple, like joc, doing girly things like watching takuya kimura adoringly in hero
-i can sleep with the music on
-i wouldn't have been able to drive myself if not for the 'circumstances' i'm in & thank goodness i can now cos driving = power! no longer limited by troublesome bus routes and long taxi queues..or having to depend on someonelse to drive me.. shiok!

watever la, i still keep looking wistfully at the ads for maldives & i've been fantasizing about a trip to the galapagos islands near ecuadour for quite some time now i'm quite determined to make it a reality but with sh's schedule looks like it'll be 3 yrs later. For now i'll just have to pacify myself with louis vuitton whenever i miss a planned trip...like the maldives trip we were planning for this xmas...haiz

what's in it for me? will i really be happy 3 yrs later? & then i still have to plan on how to fit in having a baby, best before he starts as 2nd/1st officer so that i would have time to shed off the extra weight by the time he starts proper

Driving my own car has given me a newfound sense of freedom.
Previously I had to limit my activities to match sh's timing as he was the one driving. Gym only once or twice a week on weekdays cos he wanted to go home early. Shopping on a weekday evening in town was difficult too cos he wanted to go home early.

These days, I can leave home at 9am instead of 7.30am and leave the office once i'm done without having to wait for him. evenings are more fun too cos now i can go anywhere i want!

only thing is i havnt exactly figured out how to use the gps system so i'm still confined to routes i already know.

19 Nov this year was significant not only cos it was my bday but also day 1 of being independent and driving myself to work & everywhere else (since sh has left for training overseas)

a pretty scary experience, i remember getting horned at by lots of cars at a major junction and also mounting a small curb but still, made it home safely at the end of the day with a great sense of achievement.

yesterday was a disappointment cos i drove too close to a wall & now there's a hole the size of a 20 cent coin on the back of the left side mirror.

Everyone's really dressed up in tokyo so pple watching there takes on a whole new level. Back in sg, i suddenly get the feeling that we r really getting too sloppy and drab. & surprisingly food in japan is not as pricey as u would think. Fresh sashimi is cheaper there than in sg. Again, after days of fresh sashimi & quality meals in japan, back in sg, i feel so envious of the japs.

Japan was fantastic!!!!! The shopping was super! There's just SO MUCH to buy!!!
Million times more to shop here than taipei/bangkok.

Leopard print - dresses, shoes, top, accessories, bracelet, underwear
(the shops esp. shibuya 109 have an amazing range of leopard/animal print stuff!! *squeals in delight*)..
stockings, leg warmers, leather boots..
Disneyland - Minnie mouse hat, hairband, earrings, necklace, ring, boxers, keychains.. Shiseido skincare, Marjolica majorca & Etthusais makeup(much cheaper in japan!)

The clothes & shoes are pricier in japan but they have a really huge huge range that u prob won't be able to find the same in sg/taipei/bangkok

sadly I only managed to cover a few shopping places cos my mother wanted to do sight seeing - Shibuya 109, Harajuku, Isetan/Taka and in Osaka - new hankyu dept store. There were lots lots more like the hep5 entertainment centre in osaka which was like shibuya 109 but twice the size and huge shopping arcades in Kobe, a bit like harajuku but was about closing time when I reached (they close quite early 8pm - 9pm) no late nite shopping haiz..

aiyah..hardly covered the places my friend joc recommended.. definitely have to go back again & w/o my mum for sure but prob spring/summer would be a better time to go again cos it's their autumn/winter collection in the stores now

oh & in tokyo esp shibuya, everyone's sooo good looking, it's like a city of movie stars..i see ayumis everywhere (somehow all look the same) & gorgeously clad of course AND the guys... oooh verri F4 i.e Jerry Yan

Sh enrolled into the SIA cadet pilot scheme and his training starts next month.

Leap forward cos if he succeeds, I see my tai-tai aspirations actually coming true! Not that I don't like my job but life's too short..

2 steps back cos:

- the job nature may take a toll on our r/s

- 3 yrs of training away from home - I'll have to drive myself to & fro work & everywhere else & I've been practising real hard already but i still find driving quite a chore & parking can be quite a pain.

- no more diving...he's sold his dive gear, i'm still hanging on to mine cos i still so wanna dive, just need to find dive khakis! But he said it'll be dangerous cos no other buddy will look out for me like he does..

- holidays & shopping vacations won't be the same without sh either - sob- my shopping buddy cum butler

On the bright side,

more personal time for myself when he's away. Hours at the gym.. spa.. facials.. body treatments, massage, wraps...at the hair salon.. curling & coloring my hair...these activities, I've only barely managed to schedule once in a while since we've been married so that we can spend quality time together.

Very soon, I'll be able to spend evenings at the gym and weekends at the spa ... looking forward to a tauter bod!
